FairMagnet - Risk management and sustainability in magnet sourcing
FairMagnet - Risk management and sustainabilty in magnet sourcing
Date: November 22, 2017, 14:00 - 18:00
Venue: In the rooms of Baden-Württemberg International, Haus der Wirtschaft, Willi-Bleicher-Str. 19, 7174 Stuttgart
Rare earth permanent magnets play an important role in many manufactured products. Germany is the third-biggest importer of rare earth elements from China, and many German enterprises have limited bargaining power with Chinese suppliers. Sourcing magnets from China entails big risks, for example with the environmental protection and industrial safety.
The FairMagnet initiative aims to strengthen sustainabilty and reduce risks for German enterprises in their Chinese supply chain. The initiative is supported by state governments, federal agencies, and industrial associations.
We warmly invite you to the first meeting of the initiative. Priority is given to on the following issues:
- Experience report of a medium-sized business: Improved supplier performance through upgrading of environmental and labor protection (co-financed by German government agencies)
- Discussion to create a sustainability label: FairMagnet
- Working groups: Potential of a common initiative for the strengthening of environmental protection and industrial safety in the supply chain
The event is free of charge.
